Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his home with the benefits of community service. The first is his relatives. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. He and his wife raised nine children in a Eufala farm. Two football. He is one of three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the nation by the Outland and Lombardi Awards. In the three years that Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. He received a third scholarship in 1975 and selected as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned his degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week while he attended college. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers nine seasons and became an all-pro. He also began his career in the field of business. In 1988, he was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked in these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being among the top 10 youngsters in the US. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 pounds. He coached his university team in the year 1975. In 1993, he was named associate director of the University of South Florida. The College Football Hall of Fame named him as a member in the year 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented its Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs..
