Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news website and a television host, author, and philanthropist. Born in Greece and relocated to England at age sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. A conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she became an influential voice for the Huffington Post. Arianna was able to attract numerous prominent contributors to post their views regarding politics and culture. Arianna gained notoriety after she was elected as an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside that, she was also the leader of the Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes listed her as one of as one of the "most influential woman" in media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the president of the AOL media group. It was comprised of several AOL-owned properties, such as Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. Even though she was close to her father, her connection with her mother shaped the course of her entire life. Even during her formative period, she displayed abilities to lead, and for this are still prominently known. When she moved to England, she was sixteen to further her studies and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. She graduated in 1972 with an advanced degree in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a critic for a newspaper column and a television host. In addition, she appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editing assistance.
